Our story

We are an independently owned artist and designer studio based in Bucharest, led by partners who both create the work and serve as the primary point of contact for each client. Working across visual art, sound, and moving image, our portfolio reflects a core belief: meaningful work is built on passion, discipline, and long-term commitment.

The studio was founded in 2003 in New York City by Eugen Berlo, who began by freelancing in graphics and illustration alongside his work as an architect. Since then, the practice has evolved into a multidisciplinary studio, shaped by collaborations with talented partners bringing a wide range of expertise, perspectives, and expressive depth.

Elena Berlo is a color specialist, art educator in gifted and talented programs, and an accomplished practitioner of watercolor and calligraphy. Her architecture field experience spans residential and interiors, office design, landmark restoration, institutional and entertainment projects, as well as retail environments. She has worked with established New York firms such as David Bae Architects, Laura Heim, and Linda Yowell Architect. Elena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Bucharest and a Color Specialist degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
Eugen Bogdan Berlo is primarily a painter, with a wide-ranging practice that includes architecture, master planning, interiors, furniture design, signage, visual identities, sculpture, and installations. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Architecture from the University of Bucharest and continued his studies in Fine Arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Before founding the studio, he worked as an architect with prominent New York firms including Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Dan Ionescu, and Peix and Marchetti.
